1If using pre-pressed super-firm or extra-firm tofu, pat dry with paper towels. Otherwise, press the tofu for 10 to 15 minutes and pat dry. Cut the extra-firm tofu into cubes, planks, or triangles. Transfer to a medium bowl .
-
2Preheat the oven to 375Β°F.
-
3Make the marinade: In a small bowl , whisk together the low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari), garlic powder , nutritional yeast , water , sriracha (optional), olive oil (or avocado oil), and cornstarch (or arrowroot). Adjust seasoning to taste.
-
4Pour the marinade over the tofu and gently toss until evenly coated.
-
5Oven-Bake: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread the tofu in an even layer with space between the pieces. Bake for 25 minutes , flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
-
6Air-Fryer Method (Alternative): Transfer marinated tofu to the basket of an air fryer in a single layer. Air-fry at 375Β°F for 10 to 15 minutes , shaking the basket halfway through, until crisp.
-
7Pan-Fry Method (Alternative): Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu in a single layer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes , turning occasionally, until all sides are golden brown and crisp.

8Serve warm in grain bowls, salads, veggie stir-fries, or wraps.
