🥘 Ingredients
- oat milk 2 cup
- ground turmeric or of freshly grated turmeric 1 ½ tbsp
- ground ginger or freshly grated ginger 1 tbsp
- ground cinnamon or large cinnamon stick 1 tsp
- ground cloves 1-2 tsp
- ground cardamom 2-3 tsp
- freshly cracked black pepper ¼ tsp
- unrefined virgin coconut oil 1 tbsp
- pure maple syrup 1 tbsp
📝
If you’re not used to consuming turmeric, use just 1 tsp (or even 1/2 tsp). Use the electric frother only if you really want to get that frothiness associated with a latte, but feel free to skip.
-
1Gather: oat milk , ground turmeric or of freshly grated turmeric , ground ginger or freshly grated ginger , ground cinnamon or large cinnamon stick , ground cloves , ground cardamom , freshly cracked black pepper , unrefined virgin coconut oil , pure maple syrup .
-
2Add the milk to a small saucepan over low heat. Add turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, cloves (if using), cardamom (if using), and black pepper. Whisk until well combined.
-
3Bring the mixture to a simmer, but do not boil. Allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes , whisking occasionally, until smooth and hot. Alternatively, you warm the milk in the microwave and then whisk in all the ingredients using a whisk or an electric frother.
-
4Remove the saucepan from the heat. If you used whole spices, strain the golden milk over a fine mesh sieve and discard the solids. Stir the coconut oil and maple syrup (if using) into the milk. Taste and add maple syrup if needed.
-
5Use an electric frother to froth the latte, if desired (see Note 2).
