🥘 Ingredients
- pearled or semi-pearled farro 1 cup
- water 2 ½ cup
- Kosher
- bay leaf 1
-
1Prepare: pearled or semi-pearled farro , water , Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper, bay leaf .
-
2Add the water to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add the farro, 1 tsp of kosher salt, several cracks of pepper, and the bay leaf. Reduce to a simmer and cook uncovered until al dente—tender yet chewy. For pearled farro, it should take 15 to 20 minutes; for semi-pearled farro, 20 to 30 minutes.
-
3Drain in a colander and discard the bay leaf. Transfer the farro to a sheet pan or silpat mat, and spread out to cool. Once cooled, transfer to a labeled airtight container and refrigerate for about 5 days.
