- frozen chopped spinach 10 ounces
- ricotta cheese 8 ounces
- mozzarella cheese 4 ounces
- olive oil 1 tablespoon
- egg yolk 1 large
- garlic powder 1 teaspoon
- fresh oregano 1 Β½ teaspoons
- red pepper flakes 0.12 teaspoon
- salt 1 teaspoon
- pizza dough 1 pound
- egg 1 large
- water 2 tablespoons
- Parmesan cheese 1 ounce

1Preheat oven to 500Β°F. Combine frozen chopped spinach , ricotta cheese , mozzarella cheese , olive oil , egg yolk , garlic powder , fresh oregano , red pepper flakes , and salt in a large bowl .

2Place pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and divide into 4 even pieces. With a rolling pin or your hands, flatten each piece into a 7-inch round on a piece of parchment paper .

3Spread 1/4 of the spinach filling evenly over half of each dough round, leaving a 1-inch border around the edge.

4Brush the edges with the egg wash made from egg with water , fold the other half of the dough over the filling, leaving a 1/2-inch border uncovered, and press edges together to seal.

5With a sharp knife , cut 5 steam vents in the top of each calzone and brush the tops with the remaining egg wash.

6Transfer the calzones onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes .

7Brush with any remaining egg wash, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese , and bake for another 7 minutes .

8Move the calzones to a wire rack and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
