- rajma 500 g
- oil
- ghee
- onion 150 g
- tomato 150 g
- red chilly powder 1 tsp
- salt

1Boil rajma for 30 minutes or 40 minutes until it is tender. If using a pressure cooker , that’s six or seven whistles.

2In two tablespoons of oil or ghee , fry onion until golden brown. Add tomato , stir a bit, then add red chilly powder and salt to taste. Stir some more.

3Now grind this mixture to a fine paste. Pour this over the boiled rajma, add hot water until you have a medium thin gravy, and simmer, covered, for another 30 minutes or allow six to seven whistles more on the pressure cooker.

4That’s it. Do not mash. Do not garnish with coriander. Do not garnish with anything. Do not add garam masala. Do not speak while eating.
