- rice ¾ cup
- garlic 2 cloves, minced
- hot butter 2 tablespoons
- chicken broth 1 14 ounce can
- carrots ¼ cup
- apple juice ¼ cup
- basil, oregano, or Italian seasoning ¼ teaspoon
- green onions ½ cup

1In a medium saucepan cook and stir the rice and garlic in hot butter for 3 minutes to 5 minutes or until rice is light brown.

2Carefully stir in the chicken broth , carrots , apple juice , and basil, oregano, or Italian seasoning .

3Bring mixture to boiling, reduce heat.

4Simmer, covered for 15 minutes to 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

5Stir in green onions .
