Cardamom Shortbread Cookies with Orange Glaze

🥘 Ingredients

  • powdered sugar ½ cup
  • softened salted butter 1 cup
  • all-purpose flour 1 ¾ cups
  • freshly ground cardamom 1 tsp
  • powdered sugar 1 cup
  • orange juice 1 tbsp
  • milk 1 tbsp
  • orange zest 1 tsp

    Cream powdered sugar and softened salted butter on low, then medium speed for 30 seconds until smooth.

    Add all-purpose flour and freshly ground cardamom ; mix on low until dough forms medium chunks without overmixing.

    Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Roll dough 1/2-inch thick between parchment paper, cut into shapes, and freeze for 10–15 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).

    Bake for 20–22 minutes until very lightly golden; cool completely.

    Whisk powdered sugar , orange juice , milk , and orange zest (optional) until smooth, dip cookie tops, sprinkle with zest, and let set.
