- red pepper flakes ¼ tsp
- ginger, minced ½ tsp
- garlic, minced 1 tbsp
- sugar ¼ cup
- brown sugar ¼ cup
- orange juice ¼ cup
- white distilled vinegar ¼ cup
- soy sauce 2 tbsp
- cornstarch 2 tbsp
- water 2 tbsp
- sesame oil 1 tsp

- heavy bottomed pot

1Set a heavy bottomed pot over medium - high heat and add the oil .

2Once the oil begins to shimmer, add the red pepper flakes , ginger, minced , and garlic, minced , and cook for 30 seconds , stirring constantly.

3Add the sugar and brown sugar , and stir to combine.

4Add in the orange juice and allow the sugars to begin to dissolve in the liquid, stirring occasionally.

5Add in the white distilled vinegar and soy sauce , and stir to combine.

6Add the cornstarch and water together and whisk to combine. Add to the pan and stir.

7Continue to cook the sauce until maple syrup consistency is achieved.

8Add in the fried chicken and stir until completely coated in the sauce.

9Top with sesame oil .
