- vegetable broth 2 cups
- tamari or other soy sauce 2 Β½ Tbsp
- fresh thyme 1 Tbsp
- salt
- pepper
- cornstarch 2 Tbsp
- water 3 Tbsp
- milk ΒΌ cup

1In a small saucepan , combine the vegetable broth , tamari or other soy sauce , fresh thyme , and salt and pepper to taste and bring to a boil over high heat.

2Reduce the heat to low, whisk in the cornstarch , dissolved in 3 Tbsp water , mixture, and boil, whisking until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute .

3Slowly whisk in the milk ; do not allow to boil.

4Taste to adjust the seasonings. Serve hot.
