- brown sugar 1 cup
- cold water 0.67 cup
- vegetable shortening 0.33 cup

1Mix dark molasses , brown sugar , cold water , and vegetable shortening . Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours .

2Preheat oven to 350Β°F.

3Roll out dough and cut with cookie-cutters .

4Bake for 10 to 12 minutes .

5While they are still warm, spread evenly with lemon glaze.

6Cool before frosting with Royal icing.
