- granulated sugar 1 cup
- cornstarch Β½ cup
- salt ΒΌ tsp
- whole milk 3 cups
- egg yolks 3
- creamy peanut butter Β½ cup
- vanilla 2 tsp
- pie crust 1
- whipped topping or homemade whipped cream (optional)
- peanuts (optional)
- hot fudge sauce or chocolate syrup (optional)

- small bowl
- medium saucepan
- waxed paper or plastic film

1Whisk together the granulated sugar , cornstarch , and salt in a small bowl and set aside.

2Put the whole milk and the egg yolks in a medium saucepan , and whisk until smooth.

3Turn on the heat to low.

4Slowly add the sugar mixture to the milk mixture.

5Increase the heat to medium, and whisk constantly until the mixture comes to a boil and thickens to a pudding consistency.

6Remove the pan from heat, and pour the mixture into a bowl.

7Press waxed paper or plastic film onto the surface of the pudding immediately.

8Cover the pudding and refrigerate until the pudding is completely cool.

9Use a hand mixer to whip the chilled pudding until it is creamy, then add the creamy peanut butter and the vanilla ,

10Continue to beat the mixture until evenly blended and creamy.

11Pour the filling into a cool prebaked pie crust .

12If desired, top with whipped topping or homemade whipped cream (optional) .

13Garnish with crushed peanuts (optional) if you like.
