- chopped carrots 1 cup
- shredded carrots 5 Tbsp
- green onions 2

- large saucepan
- immersion blender

1In a large saucepan , combine vegetable broth , dried green split peas , onion , celery , garlic , marjoram , basil , cumin , salt , pepper , and chopped carrots .

2Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until peas are tender, stirring occasionally.

3When peas have fully cooked, puree with an immersion blender .

4Garnish with shredded carrots and sliced green onions .
