  • granulated sugar 1 cup
  • brown sugar 1 cup
  • eggs 2 large
  • vanilla 1 tsp
  • peanut butter (smooth supermarket style, not natural) 1 cup
  • flour 3 cups
  • baking soda 2 tsp
  • salt Β½ tsp

    Preheat the oven to 350Β°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet .

    In a large bowl , beat together the vegetable shortening , granulated sugar , brown sugar , eggs , vanilla , and peanut butter (smooth supermarket style, not natural) . Sift together the flour , baking soda , and salt and add to the peanut butter mixture, stirring to combine.

    Drop cookies by spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet and press down with a fork , making a crisscross design. Bake cookies for 10 minutes , or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and cool on a rack.
