- sugar 1 cup
- baking powder 1 tsp
- baking soda ΒΌ tsp
- salt 1 tsp
- melted butter 6 Tbsp
- egg 1
- buttermilk 0.67 cup
- orange zest 1 large
- orange juice 0.33 cup
- cranberries 1 cup
- almonds (optional) Β½ cup

1Preheat oven to 370Β°F. Grease (optional) a 9x5 loaf pan .

2In a large bowl , whisk together whole wheat pastry flour , sugar , baking powder , baking soda , and salt .

3In a small bowl , whisk together melted butter , egg , buttermilk , orange zest , and orange juice .

4Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just combined.

5Gently fold in cranberries (and chopped and roasted almonds (optional) , if using).

6Bake and check at 35 minutes . Keep baking until golden brown (around 45 minutes ).

7Cool in pan for 10 minutes .
