1Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease a 9x13 baking pan .

2Cream together the butter and white sugar . Add the egg yolk and mix well. Add the flour and salt , and mix until well combined.

3Pat the crust evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Prick the entire crust with the tines of a fork. Bake for 20-22 minutes until the crust is a light golden brown.

4Increase the oven temperature to 400 F.

5Whisk together the brown sugar , eggs , vanilla extract , bourbon , angostura bitters , and light corn syrup . Add the melted butter , and whisk until smooth. Add the flour and salt and whisk until completely combined. Fold the chopped pecans into the batter. Pour over the warm crust and bake for 10 minutes .

6Reduce the heat to 350 F. Bake for 30 minutes until the filling is golden brown and puffed. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares. Makes 24 squares.
