- dried shiitake mushroms 4
- bouillon cube 2
- hot water Β½ cup
- sugar 1 tsp
- five spice powder 1 tsp
- oil 0.33 cups
- galangal 1 inch
- shallot 1
- navy beans 1 can
- sweet chili sauce 2 tbsp
- dark chinese vinegar 2 tbsp
- sichuan peppercorn 4 tsp

1Use a mortar and pestle to grind the dried shiitake mushroms and bouillon cube . Add them to hot water , along with the sugar , five spice powder .

2While that mixture is soaking, heat up oil . Fry galangal and shallot . Then add navy beans , sweet chili sauce , dark chinese vinegar , and sichuan peppercorn . Heat until thickened.
